NordicTrack T Series 10 vs T Series 16 (2026): Is the 16 Worth $300 More?

NordicTrack T Series 10 and T Series 16 treadmills side by side

The NordicTrack T Series 10 and T Series 16 are almost the same treadmill. They share the same deck, top speed, incline, cushioning, weight rating, and warranty. Only two things differ: the screen (10″ vs 16″) and the motor (3.0 vs 3.6 CHP). So the real question is whether those two upgrades are worth the usual ~$300 price gap for you.

I’m a NASM-certified personal trainer, and below I compare them the way I’d help a client choose.

Quick verdict

  • Most people: get the T Series 10. It’s a real running treadmill, and the 16 doesn’t let you do anything the 10 can’t. It just makes two things better.
  • Get the T Series 16 if: you’ll take iFIT classes or stream shows on most workouts, you run hard most days, or the price gap is about $150 or less.
  • Same price? Get the T Series 16, always. The bigger screen and stronger motor come free.
  • Running and over ~300 lb? Neither fits. Look at the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 (rated 400 lb).

What’s the same on both

You get the same core treadmill either way, so you can’t make a bad choice here.

  • Speed and incline: both go to 12 mph and 12% incline. Neither has a decline.
  • Running deck: both are 20″ × 60″, the full length I’d want for running.
  • Cushioning: both have SelectFlex. You can switch between a softer setting that’s easier on your joints and a firmer one that feels more like running on the road.
  • Weight rating: both are rated for 325 lb.
  • Folding: both fold up, with assisted lowering when you bring the deck back down.
  • Footprint: identical. NordicTrack lists both at 75.1″ L × 34.3″ W × 58.4″ H, with the same 8.3″ step-up height. Space isn’t a reason to pick one over the other.
  • Warranty: both get 10 years on the frame, 2 years on the motor and parts, and 1 year on the touchscreen and labor.

Difference #1: the screen (10″ vs 16″)

The T Series 16’s screen is 6 inches bigger on the diagonal, and that matters only if you’ll actually use iFIT. Both are HD touchscreens, and both tilt, so you can angle them for your height or for workouts off the treadmill like yoga or strength classes.

With an iFIT Pro membership, trainers lead you through classes and automatically change your speed and incline. You can also stream shows and movies on the screen with your own subscriptions. On the 16-inch screen, that feels like watching a TV. On the 10-inch screen, it feels like a large tablet.

NordicTrack T Series 10 10-inch screen vs T Series 16 16-inch screen drawn to true size

My trainer’s test: if the screen is how you’ll stay motivated (classes, scenic runs, shows), the bigger screen is worth paying for. If you mostly walk or run to your own music or podcasts, the 10-inch screen is plenty.

Difference #2: the motor (3.0 vs 3.6 CHP)

The T Series 16’s motor is rated 20% higher (3.6 vs 3.0 continuous horsepower), but both have the same 12 mph top speed and the same 325 lb limit. The 16 simply has more power in reserve.

More reserve power means the motor works less hard at higher speeds and steeper inclines. That matters most for long runs, frequent running, and heavier users.

3.0 CHP (T10) is plenty for
3.6 CHP (T16) is a real advantage if you
WalkingRun hard most days
JoggingDo long runs at higher speeds or inclines
Regular running, including most beginner and recreational runnersAre a heavier runner (up to ~300 lb) who trains hard
Who needs the T Series 16 3.6 CHP motor vs the T Series 10 3.0 CHP motor

One honest note: the motor warranty is 2 years on both. The extra power isn’t backed by a longer warranty; it’s just more headroom.

Headroom reminder: both are rated for 325 lb. If you run, I recommend staying about 25 lb under that, so both suit runners up to about 300 lb.

The price: the one check that settles it

The list prices are $1,299 (T10) and $1,499 (T16), a $200 difference. Both go on sale often, usually landing around $1,000 and $1,300, so the real gap is usually about $300.

This is the rule I’d use:

Spread over about five years of use, a $300 gap works out to roughly $5 a month. That’s worth paying only if you’ll use what it buys.

The iFIT cost (same for both)

iFIT costs the same on both, so it doesn’t change which one wins. It only changes whether either one is right for you.

  • No paid membership needed: both treadmills work with the manual speed and incline controls. You’ll still need a free iFIT account and Wi-Fi to operate them.
  • iFIT Pro ($39/month): unlocks the smart features: trainer-led classes, SmartAdjust, ActivePulse, and streaming. Over three years, that’s about $1,404.

If you know you won’t pay for iFIT, you’re mostly paying for a screen you won’t fully use. In that case, a treadmill built to be used without a subscription, like the Horizon 7.0 AT, may be the better buy. I cover it in my best treadmill on Amazon guide.

Who should buy which

Get the T Series 10 if you:

  • Walk, jog, or run a few times a week (beginner and recreational runners included)
  • Want the full NordicTrack experience for the lowest price
  • Will use iFIT some of the time and don’t mind a smaller screen

For most people, it’s the smarter buy. Check the T Series 10 price

Get the T Series 16 if you:

  • Will take iFIT classes or stream shows on most workouts
  • Run hard most days or do long, fast runs, including heavier runners up to about 300 lb
  • See a price gap of about $150 or less

Still not sure? The 3-question test

Answer these three in order; one “yes” is enough to choose the T16.

  1. Is the T16 within about $150 of the T10 today? Yes → T Series 16.
  2. Will you take iFIT classes or stream shows on most workouts? Yes → T Series 16.
  3. Do you run hard most days, or are you a heavier runner up to about 300 lb? Yes → T Series 16.

No to all three? Get the T Series 10. You get the same deck, cushioning, incline, and warranty, and keep about $300 in your pocket.

Three-question test to choose the NordicTrack T Series 10 or T Series 16

Two exceptions

  • Running and over ~300 lb: neither model is the right pick. Look at the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 instead. It’s rated for 400 lb, which suits runners up to about 375 lb.
  • Won’t pay for iFIT: consider the Horizon 7.0 AT, which is built to be used without a subscription.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you run on the NordicTrack T Series 10?

Yes. It has the same 12 mph top speed and full 20″ × 60″ deck as the T16. Its 3.0 CHP motor is plenty for walking, jogging and regular running, including most beginner and recreational runners.

Is the T Series 16 worth $300 more?

Only if you’ll use the bigger screen for iFIT classes or shows on most workouts, or you run hard most days. Otherwise, the T10 does the same job for less.

Do you need an iFIT membership?

No paid membership is needed. Both work with manual controls, but you’ll need a free iFIT account and Wi-Fi to operate them. Classes, SmartAdjust, ActivePulse and streaming need iFIT Pro at $39/month.

Does the T16 have a higher weight limit?

No. Both are rated for 325 lb. If you run, I recommend staying about 25 lb under, so both suit runners up to about 300 lb.

Do the T10 and T16 take up the same space?

Yes. NordicTrack lists both at 75.1″ L × 34.3″ W × 58.4″ H, and both fold.

Is the warranty different?

No. Both get 10 years on the frame, 2 years on the motor and parts, and 1 year on the touchscreen and labor.

Final verdict

For most people, the NordicTrack T Series 10 is the smarter buy. It gives you the same deck, cushioning, incline, weight rating, and warranty as the T16 for about $300 less. Choose the T Series 16 if you’ll use iFIT on most workouts, run hard most days, or find it within about $150 of the T10. If they’re the same price, take the 16.
